I have authored or co-authored a number of books on various subjects including writing and design. I have also authored a couple of children's books either illustrated by myself or my very talented brother. My book of poetry was published shortly after I received my Masters Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska.

TEXT BOOKS OUT OF PRINT
As all things old, books, like people, go out of print. These are three such works that have succumbed to the forces of time. Yet, while they were young, they were quite popular.

newsletters
I've created hundreds of newsletters over the years, mostly print or online pdf versions, and more recently, completely digital. Here are covers for the Media Ethics Division of one of the many professional associations I belong to.
comic books
This is a series of comic books developed for my Media Ethics class. It makes an otherwise difficult subject a bit easier to grasp—for me anyway. I'm not sure about the students. Click on any image to view a sample of the comic.
This section is dedicated to the complete and total rewrite of MEDIA HISTORY. If you have been directed to this page from another site, or Facebook, please delete the link immediately!
In the meantime, feel free to browse the collection. The comics are roughly in the order in which I created them. Which is to say, no order in particular. I have gone to great pains to provide no up-to-date information available, and have consulted no primary sources to insure as much inaccuracy as possible. Above all, read the disclaimer below and pledge silently to yourself never to reveal the location of this page to anyone, not even your 5,000 closest Facebook "friends." DISCLAIMER: These comics are not to be taken seriously. If you do take them seriously, you should restart your medications. The doctor prescribed them for a reason, so don't try to second-guess her. If you are a student in my Media History class, ignore this disclaimer. Everything you see and read here is FACTUAL, no matter what anybody else says, including me. Academic publicationI won't bore you with this except to say, yes, I have done some (I did have to get tenure, ya know). This is an image from my very first academic publication. It was about how the body shape of Uncle Sam historically changes to represent what's going on in the country. The paper was called 'The Body Politic.' Get it? It was before I turned serious and stopped having fun. Now, all my papers look like the one on the right.
